The nation's eyes are on the special election in Georgia's 6th district. Now, a new exclusive 11Alive poll, conducted by SurveyUSA shows hints of what some call "the Trump effect."

As first reported by 11Alive News earlier this week, democrat Jon Ossoff is dominating the historically Republican stronghold. Eighteen candidates are scrambling to fill the vacuum left behind when Tom Price was appointed as President Donald Trump's secretary for the Department of Health and Human Services.

In the 11Alive poll, Ossoff grabs 43% of likely voters. Republicans Karen Handel (15%), Bob Gray (14%), and Dan Moody (7%) round out the top four. All other candidates combined make up 15%, and an additional 7% are undecided. Right now, Ossoff polls below the 50% needed to avoid a runoff.
