ALPHARETTA, Ga -- The Karen Handel campaign released its first TV ad of the 6th district runoff on Tuesday.

The ad, according to the campaign, highlight’s Handel’s experience and “nearly 25 years of dedication to helping the families of the 6th district,” according to the statement.

“The people of the 6th district are not just constituents to me, they are my friends,” Handel said. “I have lived in this community and worked alongside them for nearly 25 years and if I have the honor of representing them, I will fight every day for their interests in Congress.

“I have the experience and background to be able to hit the ground running on day one to ensure Georgia families have a strong voice in Washington D.C.”

Handel and Democrat Jon Ossoff are headed toward a June 20 runoff in the race to replace Tom Price, now President Donald Trump’s secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan hosted a rally for Handel on Monday.
