ALPHARETTA, Ga – Karen Handel’s campaign released a new digital ad on Tuesday, highlighting the GOP hopeful’s personal background.
In the ad, entitled “Story,” Handel talks about her appreciation for hard work and her ability to make “tough” decisions.
“Leaving a troubled home at 17 wasn’t easy but it shaped me into the person I am proud to be today,” said Handel. “Working part time job on top of part time job while trying to finish school taught me how to be resilient and appreciate the value of hard work.
“We need more people in Congress who aren’t afraid to make the tough decisions and if elected I will take that same fighting spirit to Congress to work for the people of the 6th District.”
Handel is in a June 20 runoff in metro Atlanta’s 6th congressional district against Democrat Jon Ossoff.
Ossoff and Handel finished first and second, respectively, in an April 18 special election to replace Tom Price, now President Donald Trump’s secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
On Monday, Ossoff’s campaign released an internal poll showing him with a one-point lead over Handel.
