WASHINGTON, DC -- A new Democratic poll shows Jon Ossoff leading Karen Handel in the nation's most closely watched special election runoff.

House Majority PAC released the poll on Friday, showing Ossoff, a Democrat, with 50 percent of the vote over his GOP rival, Karen Handel, with 48 percent.

Both Ossoff and Handel are seeking to replace Tom Price in Georgia's 6th congressional district. Price is now President Donald Trump's secretary for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The survey of 400 likely voters was conducted from April 29 to May 1.

Last week, an Ossoff campaign internal poll found Ossoff leading Handel by one point.
