Thousands of pro-life supporters are expected to participate Friday in the 2018 annual March for Life in downtown.

The event, sponsored by Georgia Right to Life (GRTL), will begin at 11 am with a prayer service at Liberty Plaza, located on Capitol Avenue across the street from the state capitol.

Dr. James Merritt, senior pastor at Cross Pointe Church in Duluth, will deliver the keynote address.

In Washington, DC, President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to address the rally.

GRTL vice president Shannon Vogt will serve as master of ceremonies for the event that will conclude with a silent, one-mile march.

Also on Friday, President Donald Trump will become the first president to directly address the 45-year-old anti-abortion protest march. Previous presidents — including Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush — have done so with a phone call or recorded message. Trump will do it in the White House Rose Garden.
