SWAT units being called in after police say man shot at woman, ran into house

Here's what we know.

ATLANTA — Atlanta Police confirm they are calling for SWAT units after they say a man shot at a woman near the campus of Clark Atlanta University and ran into a house after.

According to Officer Stephanie Brown with the Atlanta Police Department, officers responded to the 800 block of T.P. Burress Sr. Drive SW around 2:45 p.m. after getting a call about shots fired.

At this time police believe a man shot at a woman and ran away into a nearby house. Police said the woman was not hurt by the gunfire.

Officials took out a warrant to search the home where the suspect was last seen, but instead of finding the man, police found his discarded clothing behind the home. When officers entered the home around 6:30 p.m., neither the suspect nor a weapon was found.

The investigation continues.
