DULUTH, GA. - Three family dogs trapped in their crates were rescued by firefighters during a fire in Duluth on Thursday.

Gwinnett County Firefighters responded to the home on the 2700 block of Rhoanoke Drive NW at 8:30 a.m. after reports of smoke visible.

Officials say that a teenager who lives in the home was at the bus stop down the street when he heard the smoke alarms. He went to a neighbors home and called 9-1-1.

Crews rescued the three dogs from their crates safely and unharmed, no injuries were reported. No other family members were inside the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Officials say it caused extensive damage to the items in the living room as well as smoke damage throughout the home.
