Friday marks the Atlanta Braves home opener at SunTrust Park, their new stadium in Cobb County.

The Braves left Turner Field after 20 years. After giving up their lease, the stadium was sold by the Recreation Authority to Georgia State University, who is retrofitting the baseball stadium into a football stadium and constructing a baseball stadium at the site of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium.

While Georgia State is trying to advance its athletics culture, Athletic Director Charlie Cobb told 11Alive in an exclusive interview that they will not be completely eliminating the legacy the Braves left at the stadium.

11Alive got the exclusive first look inside Turner Field since the Braves vacated it just a few months ago. See what the stadium looks like today in Chapter 5 of our feature of the Braves' new stadium: The untold stories of SunTrust Park: The people most affected by the Braves move to Cobb County.
