ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Jake Fromm is wishing his former teammate Jacob Eason a fond farewell.

Fromm sent a message on Twitter Sunday saying, "Wish @skinnyqb10 nothing but the best. You deserve it big dawg, Athens will miss you." (Skinnyqb10 is Eason's Twitter handle)

As of Monday afternoon, the tweet had been shared more than 1,000 times and "loved" more than 8,000 times.

Eason, a highly-touted recruit, announced earlier this month that he would be transferring away from Athens.

Eason was the starting quarterback in his freshman year in 2016, but was injured in the first game of the 2017 season, losing his spot to Fromm, who led the Bulldogs to the national championship game. Eason has not announced where he's transferring to, but reports indicate the Washington native will be headed to the University of Washington.
