ATHENS, Ga. – The Dawgs are the number 4 seed in the Albany region heading into the NCAA tournament, which will be held in the Classic City.
It was announced on Monday that the UGA women’s basketball team will face in-state opponent Mercer at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday in the first round in Athens.
This is the first time UGA will host the NCAA tournament since 2003.
The winner of the UGA-Mercer matchup will play the winner of the Duke and Belmont game in the second round on either March 18 or 19.
