PHILADELPHIA -- Ryan Mathews scored two rushing touchdowns, including a 5-yard score with seven minutes left in the game to cap off a record day for the Philadelphia Eagles and beat the Atlanta Falcons 24-15 on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field.

After Matthews scored the go-ahead score, he punched in the two-point conversion to put the Eagles up by six.

A pass interference by Brian Poole on a deep pass from quarterback Carson Wentz to Jordan Matthews put the Eagles in striking defense.

The Falcons' offense tried to respond on the subsequent drive, but Julio Jones dropped a pass on third-and-12. On the next drive, Jones was well covered on fourth-and-five for a turnover on downs. Caleb Sturgis was able to kick a 48-yard field goal to put the Eagles up by nine thanks to the field position.

Matt Ryan threw an interception on the Falcons' final drive.

The Eagles (5-4) continue their dominance at home, improving to 4-0 at their comfy confines and end a two-game losing streak. The Falcons' two-game winning streak came to an end, but still sit atop the NFC South.

The Falcons (6-4), who have one of the most prolific offenses in the league, had a season-low in points scored.

After relying heavily on the field goal unit to finish the job in the red zone, Ryan found Taylor Gabriel down the right sideline for a 76-yard touchdown to give the Falcons their first lead of the game early in the fourth, but Matt Bryant missed the extra point.

Gabriel, who the Falcons picked up off waivers from the Cleveland Browns during the offseason, has scored three touchdowns in as many weeks.

Ryan was 18-for-33 for 267 yards and one touchdowns. He was sacked twice by one of the best defenses the team has faced all season.

Jones had 10 receptions for 135 yards, including a long 29-yard basket-catch in the first quarter, but it only led to one of Bryant's field goals.

Bryant was 3-for-4 on field goals.

The Eagles rookie quarterback Wentz opened the game 8-for-8, his first incomplete pass not coming until nearly mid-way through the second quarter. He completed 25 passes on 36 attempts for 231 yards. He threw no touchdowns.

Vic Beasley had a strip-sack on Wentz for the game's only turnover besides Ryan's late interception. Beasley had two sacks in the game.

The Eagles' ground game had a season-best 207 yards against the Falcons. The Falcons only mustered up 48 yards on the ground.

The Falcons are off next week before facing the Arizona Cardinals at home.
