FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- The Atlanta Falcons agreed to terms with 21 college free agents, including four players with ties to the state of Georgia.
The Falcons, who drafted just one defensive back last weekend, also picked up Georgia Bulldogs safety Quincy Mauger on Monday. Mauger played for four years and totaled 187 tackles with seven interceptions at Georgia. Last season, he started two games, played in 13 and had 21 total tackles. He is a native of Marietta, Ga. and graduated from Kell High School.
The defending NFC Champions also picked up defensive end J'Terius Jones. Jones had 149 total tackles, 35.5 for loss, 22 sacks and three forced fumbles in three seasons at Miami (OH). Jones is a native of East Atlanta and attended Miller Grove.
Joining the defense is cornerback out of Iowa State Jarnor Jones. Jones is a Lithonia, Ga. native and played football and basketball at MLK High School.
Finally, the Falcons signed South Carolina linebacker Darius English. He led the Gamecocks with nine sacks last season, and he had 57 tackles, 13 for loss. English played at McEachern High School and had a 21-sack senior season.
