ATLANTA -- It was quite a day for Tre' Jackson.

The junior linebacker was part of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 28-22 upset over No. 17 Virginia Tech on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium.

The Jackets blew a 12-point lead, but an 80-yard touchdown pass from TaQuon Marshall to Ricky Jeune and a defensive stop on fourth down helped the Yellow Jackets come up with their fifth win of the season.

After the handshakes at midfield and the celebratory singing with the marching band, the team circled around Jackson who took a knee in the end zone and asked his girlfriend, Desiree', to marry him. She said yes, and still wearing his gloves, Jackson put the ring on her finger.

Head coach Paul Johnson said Jackson told him a couple weeks ago he was going to do it.

"I said, Tre', what are you going to do if we don't win the game? He said, 'I'll do it on the plaza afterwards.' "

Jackson needs to give a big thank you to Marshall, Jeune and Ajani Kerr for helping the Jackets win because it turned into quite a memorable proposal on The Flats.
