ATLANTA – In advance of their playoff series game 6 against the Indiana Pacers at Philips Arena Thursday night, the Atlanta Hawks introduced a new, updated version of its iconic "Pac-Man" hawk logo, which will be featured as the team's secondary logo beginning next season.

The original version of the red and white logo actually pre-dates the video game Pac-Man by eight years, having been introduced in 1972, around the same time the team moved to the Omni from Alexander Memorial Coliseum on Georgia Tech's campus.

The team announced Thursday that the updated version of the logo was making its debut on t-shirts being given to all fans in attendance at Thursday's game. The logo will become the team's new secondary logo, beginning next season. The Hawks said the logo would be available on team merchandise beginning over the summer months.
