College Football Playoff rankings: Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson remain in top four

The College Football Playoff committee has spoken and the top four teams are Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson. The final CFP rankings are Dec. 3.

The top of College Football Playoff rankings released Tuesday look just like the top of last week's.

Georgia retains the No. 1 position it held in last week's initial rankings followed by Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson.

Oklahoma stay at No. 5 with TCU, Miami (Fla.), Wisconsin, Washington and Auburn completing the top 10.

Falling out of the top 10 were Ohio State and Penn State, who were sixth and seventh, respectively, before losing on the road in the Big Ten.

The top four teams in final rankings on Dec. 3 will play in the semifinals. Those two games will be played in the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.

The championship game will be played on Jan. 8 in Atlanta at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
