Red Gerard just became an American hero.
The 17-year-old snowboarder became the youngest American to medal in a snowboarding event at the Olympics by winning the slopestyle.
His gold medal was the first for the United States in the Winter Games in PyeongChang.
Gerard is from Rocky River, Ohio. And that's where his fans were watching from a bar. The crowd erupted when they realized he was taking home the gold.
