Georgia State Patrol and the Motor Carrier Compliance Division are investigation the accident.

WALTON COUNTY, Ga. — A serious accident between a dump truck and a passenger car was reported by the Walton County Sheriff's Office on Friday.

Deputies said the dump truck was filled with asphalt.

The sheriff's office said the accident happened on Unisia Drive between GA 78 and GA 83. 11Alive SkyTracker flew over the scene, where emergency officials had a stretch of the roadway blocked.

Video also showed the dump truck on its side, off the side of the highway. A short distance away sat a white car, with a portion of it's front end severely damaged.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the dump truck was traveling north when its tire blew out, causing the driver to lose control of his vehicle and cross into the opposite lane. It was there the truck struck a car that was traveling south, according to GSP. They added that two vehicles then fell off the roadway and down into an embankment.

The GPS report also mentions that the driver of the car was transported to Piedmont Athens with "severe injuries." However, the driver of the truck did not receive any.
