CONYERS, Ga. -- Authorities said that there were no serious injuries despite a major pile-up on I-20 east of Atlanta on Sunday.
The accident happened near Conyers, Ga. and involved up to 9 vehicles after a van attempted to pull over due to a flat tire.
The driver attempted to cross from the left lane to the emergency lane to get off the road. However, troopers believe this action caused a chain reaction that ultimately involved nine vehicles.
Authorities reported six injuries from the accident - none considered to be life-threatening.
As of 4:50 p.m., backups were reported all the way back to the Alcovy Road exit however authorities managed to have the road re-opened by 5:05 p.m.
