DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Motorists heading south on the DeKalb County side of the Perimeter take note - you can expect more delays than usual.

The Georgia Department of Transportation reports that a car fire in the southbound lanes near Memorial Drive temporarily had all lanes blocked - though lanes have since reopened.

Authorities haven't said what caused the fire or if there are any injuries.  Fire crews and police are still on the scene blocking a small portion of the roadway and causing only a slight bottleneck compared to when they first responded. However, congestion has already built up from when the initial response had the entire southbound side at an impasse.

If you're heading south in the area, prepare for more congestion than the average rush.
