Lanes back open after tractor trailer fire prompts earlier shutdown on I-285 near Langford Parkway

Drivers were urged to use I-75/85 through downtown.

ATLANTA — Traffic is flowing again after a truck fire blocked all southbound lanes on Interstate 285 Wednesday morning. Just before 10 a.m., two lanes reopened as crews continue to clean up. By 1 p.m., all lanes were back open.

It happened near Camp Creek Parkway just past Langford Parkway just before 8 a.m.

Drivers were urged to use I-75/85 through downtown -- especially those trying to access the airport. We were seeing upwards of five miles in backups.

It is unclear at this point if there were any injuries or what the truck was hauling.
