Major lane closures expected as part of 285/400 construction project

GDOT says multiple lanes will be shut down on GA 400 nightly as part of the project

The Georgia Department of Transportation says major lane closures will be in place on Georgia 400 each night the week of Nov. 12.

The closures are part of the reconstruction of the multi-year I-285/Georgia 400 interchange project.

The closures will affect traffic on Georgia 400 northbound between Hammond Drive and Abernathy Road, and southbound Georgia 400 from Abernathy Road to Hammond Drive. In addition, traffic on I-285 westbound may be affected as equipment may be moved across the interstate during the project.

GDOT says the lane closures will take place Monday, Nov. 12 through Friday, Nov. 16, nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Exact dates of the closures may be adjusted due to weather or other factors.

Motorists are advised to expect delays in the road work zones, and to adjust their speed accordingly.
