Motorcyclist dead after accident in Forsyth County

FORSYTH COUNTY, Ga. -- A motorcyclist has died after police say another vehicle turned in front of the rider on Saturday.

According to Forsyth County Corporal Doug Rainwater, the accident happened near the intersection of Peachtree Parkway and Sharon Road around 9 a.m.

That's where investigators said 64-year-old Gregory Smith of Duluth, Georgia ws riding his Harley Davidson Electra-Glide when a 2016 Honda Odyssey turned in front of him.

Smith's motorcycle struck the Honda as it was turning onto Sharon Road. He was rushed to North Fulton Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Neither the driver of the Honda, 39-year-old Vivekandandan Kandasamy of Cumming, Georgia nor a juvenile girl in the car was injured.

The crash itself is still under investigation and police have not mentioned possible charges.
