DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A driver is in police custody after a brief police chase - and eventual crash - on I-20 east of Atlanta on Thursday.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, they were called in to assist DeKalb County Police during a pursuit. However, the chase soon ended when authorities said the car lost control on I-20 near Flat Shoals Road. A state trooper then pinned the vehicle to prevent the driver's escape.
The resulting investigation caused major traffic headaches in the afternoon right in the middle of evening rush hour. That traffic, however, has since cleared.
The driver was taken into custody without further incident. It's still unclear how the chase began or what charges the driver will now face.
