DETROIT - Hard to believe a creature as small as a hummingbird could cause such havoc -- but it did on board a flight from Detroit to Atlanta.

Somehow the bird managed to stowaway in the cockpit. After an hour of searching, the couldn't find the bird, so the plane took off.

An hour later, the bird emerged. Pilots said they did not feel safe, so the plane returned to Detroit.

The bird was found and released.

The flight's captain said it was the first time in 20 years of flying that he'd had a bird inside the cockpit.
