ATLANTA -- A London-bound flight was forced to make an emergency landing back at Hartsfield-Jackson late Tuesday due to a concern raised by the pilots.

A Delta spokesperson confirmed to 11Alive that a flight bound for Heathrow Airport turned around not long after departure after pilots heard a noise from the aircraft itself. The return to Atlanta was precautionary, the spokesperson said.

The flight arrived safely back at the gate around 9:21 p.m. A total of 216 passengers were on the plane.

They are now set to depart on another flight around 11 p.m. The Delta spokesperson didn't detail what the cause of this sound was.

Another flight that was scheduled to depart to the same airport was scheduled to leave had to return to the gate, yet again, but a spokesperson with Delta was unable to say what the reasoning was around that.

All passengers were put into a hotel by Delta and are scheduled to depart again at 6:00 p.m. tonight.
