Here's what to expect.

ATLANTA — The 11Alive StormTrackers are following a storm system coming in through Alabama that could bring with it some pockets of thunderstorms this evening and and a low risk for severe storms tomorrow.

Here's a general outline of what kind of developments you can expect and when you might expect them:

Thursday

On Thursday, we'll see a much broader portion of the state under the Level 1 risk. It doesn't mean the whole state will be hit - just that in those places where showers do develop, they could do so a little more strongly.

RELATED: More rain chances Thursday

"We don't think this is going to be widespread. We're going to have about a fifty percent chance for showers, but some of those that develop could have some strong storms with them, and the main threats would be some wind, lightning, maybe some hail in association with that," says 11Alive Meteorologist Chris Holcomb. "We don't really think this is the type of system that would cause tornadoes to be moving our way for your Thursday."

Things should be clearer in the morning, with the potential for severe weather picking up in the early and late afternoon.

Thursday afternoon

After this morning wave of shower and storm pushes through, some sunshine will come through. This will help fuel another possible round of scattered showers and storms. A couple of these storms could be strong to severe, especially if we see a lot of sunshine. The main threat with these storms is damaging wind gusts, but heavy rain and lightning will be possible too.

It is an overall low threat for severe weather, we’re all under a level 1 of 5 threat for severe storms.
Any storms that develop should wind down around midnight
