ATLANTA -- Severe thunderstorms popped up all over metro Atlanta Sunday afternoon and evening.

Authorities went to Chastain Park after a car was stuck in floodwaters. Crews helped the driver pull the car out of the water.

Gwinnett County Department of Fire responded to several storm-related incidents

Firefighters went to a home on Buckingham Place, NW in Duluth after they received a report of a tree down in the area just after 5 p.m.

A resident said a tree was blocking the front door. Crews who responded saw that a tree pulled a cable and electrical service line away from the corner of the house.

Other small limbs fell on top of the home. Firefighters secured power at the electrical panel box and put up fire line tape around the live wires. Georgia Power was requested to respond due to the downed service line. There were no injuries reported.

Firefighters also went to a home on Berry Hall Road after they received a report of lightning striking a home. Authorities said it appears that lightning hit the chimney and displaced a few bricks inside the firebox. There was no major damage and no injuries were reported.

Lilburn Police went to First Avenue and Elizabeth Way after someone reported a tree down on the roadway around 5:13 p.m. The tree blocked several lanes and city crews came to clear the roadway. No injuries were reported.
