LIST: Here are the schools that are closed

Thankfully for parents, there are multiple resources to use to find out whether your child’s school is closed.

With snow falling in some parts of metro Atlanta and North Georgia, many parents and students are wondering if school will be closed.

Many factors go into school closures. In both Forsyth and Cobb County, the superintendent and administrative staff carefully watch the weather conditions during possible inclement weather. Based on meteorologists reports and after transportation road tests early in the morning, they will determine whether it is safe for teachers and students to go to school that day.

In the end, the superintendent of the district is responsible for the final decision.

In both Forsyth and Cobb County, the final decision will be made by 5:30 a.m. except in the situations when weather may force school closings during the school day. If that’s the case, radio and TV stations will be notified.
