ATLANTA — 11Alive StormTrackers are watching a system that will move through the southeast Thursday and Friday morning, bringing very strong and severe thunderstorms.

Tornadoes, heavy rain and flooding are all concerns.

Follow 11Alive to get live updates on the conditions. Morning Rush news is going on the air early at 4:00 a.m. Friday to give viewers the latest as the last of the storms move out and damage becomes more visible.

UPDATES:

2:39 a.m. | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett counties until 3:15 a.m.

1:56 a.m. | A tornado watch was issued for several counties in Georgia until 7:00 a.m.

1:06 a.m. | A flash flood warning has been issued for Dawson, Lumpkin and White Counties until 7:15 a.m.

1:31 a.m. | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Oconee, Habersham, Rabun, Stephens until 3/26 2:00 a.m.

12:54 a.m. | 10 counties have been taken out of the tornado watch.

12:42 a.m. | The tornado warning has expired for Clayton and Fayette counties.

12:38 a.m. | The Flash Flood warning has been extended for Fanin, Gilmer, Murray, Towns, Union and Whitfield counties until 3:30 a.m.

12:33 a.m. | The tornado warning has been canceled for Coweta and Fulton counties. It remains in effect for Clayton and Fayette counties until 12:45 a.m.

12:27 a.m. | There are multiple reports of structural damage in Newnan

12:23 a.m. | The tornado emergency has been canceled for Coweta.

12:10 a.m. | Tornado warning issued for Clayton, Coweta, Fayette, Fulton until 12:45 a.m.

12:08 a.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has bee canceled for Bartow and Cherokee counties.

11:57 p.m. | A "large and extremely dangerous" tornado was located near Powers Crossroads, eight miles southwest of Newnan.

11:53 p.m. | The tornado warning has expired for Heard County.

11:51 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning is now in effect for Bartow and Cherokee Counties until 12:15 a.m.

11:44 p.m. | A new tornado warning has been issued for parts of Heard, and now Coweta, counties until 12:15 a.m.

11:27 p.m. | 11Alive StormTracker Meteorologist Melissa Nord is tracking a possible tornado in Randolph County, Alabama. Is is expected to cross into Georgia within the next few minutes.

11:13 p.m. | A tornado warning has been issued for Heard County until 12 a.m.

10:53 p.m. | A tornado warning has been issued for Randolph County, Alabama until 10:45 p.m. CT.

10:33 p.m. | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Catoosa, Whitfield, Whitfield, Walker, and Chattooga counties until 11 p.m. 

10:28 p.m. | The Tornado Watch was expanded back northward again to include all of northwestern Georgia until 2 a.m. 

10:17 p.m. | Several road closures reported in Floyd and Gordon Counties from flash flooding. Gordon County department of highways reports that GA Highway 61 at Red Bud Road is blocked with tree limbs, rocks, and mud across all lanes. Floyd county road closures includes GA Highway 53 at Buttermilk Road.

10:05 p.m. | Video continues to come in showing damage in the Cedartown community in Polk county. Trees are snapped, power lines down, roofs and homes are damaged

10:00 p.m. | All warnings have expired, but storms continue to move through Banks, Barrow, Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, and Hall counties with gusts 40 to 50 mph, small hail and heavy rain.

9:45 p.m. | Golf ball sized hail reported by Cherokee County Emergency Management 3 miles southwest of Canton

9:38 p.m. | The thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Bartow. It remains in effect for Cherokee, Forsyth and Fulton counties until 10:15 p.m.

9:36 p.m. | Officials in Floyd County are warning that there is significant flooding in the county. They are advising everyone to stay off the roads for their safety. Listen to the interview below.

9:26 p.m. | A new severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth and Fulton counties until 10:15 p.m.

The previous warning for Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb and Paulding counties has been canceled.

9:15 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Polk County. It remains in effect for Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb and Paulding counties until 9:30 p.m.

9:05 p.m. | A flash flood warning has been issued for Bartow, Cherokee, Dawson, Gilmer, Gordon, Pickens counties until 3:15 a.m. March 26.

9:04 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Haralson. It remains in effect for Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Paulding and Polk counties.

8:59 p.m. | The storms bringing severe weather to Georgia have left several people dead in Alabama. Read more here. 

8:58 p.m. | Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Walker and Whitfield counties are no longer under a tornado watch.

8:50 p.m.| A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Haralson, Paulding and Polk counties until 9:30 p.m.

8:30 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has expired for Cherokee County.

8:24 p.m. | The emergency manager in Floyd County is reporting that numerous roads are flooded, and the fire department is rescuing three sinking cars in ditches. 

"Turn around don't drown," officials warned. "Don't put yourself in danger."

8:21 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Bartow and Fulton counties. It remains in effect for Cherokee until 8:30 p.m.

8:05 p.m. | 11Alive's Hope Ford is in Cartersville, where she is reporting frequent, intense lightning, as well as heavy rain and strong winds.

7:45 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton and Paulding counties until 8:30 p.m.

5:52 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Bartow County. It remains in effect for Cherokee and Pickens County until 6:15 p.m.

5:38 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Bartow, Cherokee and Pickens counties until 6:15 p.m.

5:27 p.m. | The tornado warning for Floyd County has been canceled. It remains in effect for Bartow County until 5:45 p.m.

5:14 p.m. | The tornado warning remains in effect for parts of Bartow and Floyd counties until 5:45 p.m.

5:02 p.m. | The tornado warning has been canceled for Polk County.

4:59 p.m. | A new tornado warning has been issued, to include parts of Bartow County, until 5:45 p.m..

4:43 p.m. | Polk County Schools is canceling classes for Friday, March 26 due to storm damage, widespread power outages and trees down. 

4:18 p.m. | A TORNADO WARNING has been issued for Floyd and Polk counties until 5:15 p.m.

4:00 p.m. | The City of Cedartown is reporting trees down at the old Dixie Gas Station on South Main. Numerous trees are also down in Northview Cemetery. Power is out for many on the south side of the city.

3:39 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Cherokee County.

3:33 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Bartow, Cobb and Paulding counties. It remains in effect for Cherokee County until 3:45 p.m.

3:23 p.m. | The severe thunderstorm warning has been canceled for Polk County. It remains in effect for Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb and Paulding counties.

3:07 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Bartow, Cherokee, Cobb, Paulding and Polk counties until 3:45 p.m.

3:02 p.m. | The tornado warning for Banks, Jackson and Madison counties has been canceled by the national weather service.

2:51 p.m. | A tornado warning has been issued for parts of Banks, Jackson and Madison counties until 3:15 p.m.

1:33 p.m. | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Forsyth, Cherokee, Jackson, Barrow, Cobb until 3/25 2:15PM.  

1:20 p.m. | 3500 Georgia Power customers are without power in Polk county. That's 25%. Multiple trees are reportedly down near Youngs Grove Elementary School.

1:00 p.m. | A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for Fulton, Cherokee, Cobb, Forsyth. This expires at 1:30 p.m.

12:45 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Bartow, Cobb, Floyd, Paulding and Polk counties. This expires at 1:30 p.m.

At 12:41 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Fish Creek, or near Cedartown, moving east at 55 mph.

12:30 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Floyd, Haralson and Polk counties. This expires 12:45 p.m.

12:26 p.m. | A tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. for several Georgia counties: Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk
Walker and Whitfield.

12:21 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Floyd, Haralson, and Polk Counties until 12:45 a.m.

12:20 p.m. | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Cleburne County, which is right across the Georgia border in Alabama. This expires at 11:45 a.m.

11:58 a.m. | Several counties are under a flash flood watch until Friday, 8 a.m. March 26.

The watch is for additional portions of north Georgia, including the following areas, Bartow, Cherokee and Polk.

11:50 A.M | A flash flood warning has been issued for Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Walker and Whitfield counties. This expires at 5:45 p.m.

10:40 AM | A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Walker, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade and Whitfield counties until 11:30 a.m.
