SLOW DOWN: Rains bring wrecks across metro Atlanta

Don't get in a hurry on Monday morning

Rain and flash flood warnings aren't making things any easier for commuters on metro Atlanta roads, Monday.

Ponding on major roads and about a dozen wrecks are plaguing drivers who are hitting the road during rush hour. Those accidents have been reported on virtually every major road in the city.

Fortunately for drivers on I-20 westbound, one accident near Fulton Industrial is clearing. With one accident leaving the roads, however, another has already been reported - this one on the Downtown Connector headed north at University Avenue.

It only took about 10 minutes earlier in the morning for many of the other accidents to form including one on I-85 north near Cleveland Avenue, I-285 north near MLK, I-285 at South Atlanta Road, Georgia 400 north at Hammond Drive, I-75 south near Highway 138 and I-20 west near Candler Road.

The wrecks are serving as yet another reminder to drivers across the area not only to plan ahead but to slow down on the morning drive.
