Snow Timeline | When to expect snowfall in metro Atlanta

Atlanta should see light snow starting at around 5:00 p.m.

Snow? Again?

Yes, my fellow Georgians, snow is coming again but there's only a 40 percent chance parts of north and northwest Georgia will see some light snow accumulations. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of the metro Atlanta area until 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Also, if you plan to leave your house during this arctic blast, be sure to bundle up because Georgia has also issued a wind chill advisory which means the cold temperatures plus wind will make things even more chilly. Make sure to wear your gloves and scarves.

TIMELINE

Tuesday afternoon

The northern areas of Georgia should see snow between noon on Tuesday into 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday with snow accumulations of up to an inch, possibly a little more than an inch.

Northwest Georgia should start to see some clouds and light snow coming through until 6:00 p.m, Tuesday evening.

Metro Atlanta will start to see come cloud coverage starting at around 5:00 p.m. with some rain turning into possible light snow until 9:00 p.m.

All of the snow should make its way out of north Georgia by 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Wednesday morning

Temperatures should be in the 40s on Wednesday but there could still be a possibility of icy road conditions so, drive carefully.

Northwest Georgia could see up to an inch of snow while metro Atlanta and surrounding areas could see 1/10 of an inch to 1/2 an inch of snow.
