'America's Got Talent' crowns Season 8 winner

NEW YORK (USA Today) -- Six acts anxiously awaited the final minutes of Wednesday's America's Got Talent finale on NBC, live from New York.

Who would win the $1 million and a contract to headline a Las Vegas show? It wouldn't be a dog or a ventriloquist. That much was for sure.

The final six:

-Cami Bradley, 25, singer

-Collins Key, 16, magician

-Taylor Williamson, 26, comedian

-Forte, an opera trio comprised of Fernando Varela, Josh Page and Sean Panikkar

-Jimmy Rose, 32, a marine vet and coal miner singer

-Kenichi Ebina, 38, Japanese dancer/performance artist

Before the winner was crowned, there were performances by the Rockettes, Icona Pop and Earth, Wind and Fire.

Gavin DeGraw did a duet with Bradley. Il Divo and Heather Headley sang while Ebina danced. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb were assistants to magician Key. Josh Groban sang with Forte. Dierks Bentley sang with Rose.

And Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton sat down with Wiliamson, as if he were a guest on the interview show, introducing him as "one of the greatest comedians in the history of life on this planet." Lipton proceeded to ask him questions, just as he would a guest on Inside The Actor's Studio.

One of them was, "What is your favorite curse word?"

"Dick Cheney," said Williamson.

Other hijinks during the two-hour finale included clips of judges Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, Mel B. and Howie Mandel hamming it up. "The four judges have been so successful we're moving to 10 judges next year," cracked Stern.

There was even a segment on Nick Cannon, his "sexy socks" and his love of "white people dancing."

Finally, Cannon got down to business.

Cami Bradley was the first to go. She was followed by Collins Key. Then Forte.

Before we got the final results country star Luke Bryan performed.

And then, it was down to three guys. Third place went to Jimmy Rose and second place to Taylor Williamson, which meant the winner was Kenichi Ebina! "It's amazing," he said. "It's crazy."
