ATLANTA -- The CEO of Spanx recently took the time to stop by 11Alive's studio to share her latest project that focuses on both art and pregnancy.
Sara Blakely just launched her new book, "The Belly Art Project." The book, which is a New York Times bestseller, features over 100 photos of celebrity and everyday mothers whose pregnant bellies have been transformed into whimsical “billboards of hope.”
All proceeds from the book will go to Christy Turlington Burn’s foundation, Every Mother Counts, which promotes maternal health around the world.
On Friday, nearly 90 new and expectant mothers participated in a shower at Grady Hospital. There, Sara shared her own experience as a mother of four young children, and the women who attended received a combination baby stroller and car seat, which was underwritten by the Sara Blakely Foundation.
Sara just joined Instagram and, for every 10,000 followers she gains, Sara will donate $10,000 to Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn Initiative, which strives to ensure that adolescent girls around the world get the education they deserve.
There's also the freebie tonight for 11Alive viewers, a free copy of "The Belly Art Project" for a handful of 11Alive followers who join her on Instagram.
