The temperatures might not feel like it but summer is over - at least according to a major candy company.
That's the angle the internet has taken with the introduction of White Pumpkin Pie to store shelves - in mid-August.
FoodandWine.com reports that the unusual new flavor is the latest attempt by a company to cash in on the fall season with one of its most ubiquitous flavors - pumpkin. It's a list that includes everything from Starbucks to Cheerios.
But some are concerned that the early introduction of this seasonal treat is encroaching on the days of margaritas and cookouts - and bringing a little gloom to those who don't particularly care for the colder months that follow.
In the meantime, if you're a shopper with a sweet tooth - and a more optimistic view of the season start looking around at your local grocery stores and you may just spot them.
