WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Sgt. Nathan Watson was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor for his heroic efforts to save his fellow soldiers in Afghanistan after suffering a gunshot wound to his arm.
After waiting nearly a year for his disability benefits, the Georgia National Guardsman was told it could be another 400 days before he would see any disability compensation.

11Alive's Help Desk thought that was unacceptable and immediately contacted the Veterans Administration as well as U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson.
After making call after call after call, the 400 days were reduced to four.
