Randy Waters

Randy Waters was born in Coshocton, OH in 1951. He attended Riverview High School near Coshocton, and graduated from Ashland College in Ashland, Ohio in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.

After graduation, Randy joined WKYT-TV's sports department in Lexington, Kentucky, then went to WTVQ in Lexington as Sports Director. He then worked for WAVE-TV in Louisville where he did play-by-play announcing for the University of Kentucky's basketball team and later was awarded the Louisville Advertising Award for A Best Sports Production.

Before coming to WXIA-TV, Randy was a sports reporter/anchor for WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh. His three years there were busy ones, serving as co-host of a weekly sports show and a play-by-play announcer for the Pittsburgh Steeler's pre-season football games.

Randy has been with the 11Alive sports department since September of 1984 and has been the recipient of multiple Emmy awards for his work. Currently, Waters serves as the weekday morning sports anchor for 11Alive News Today from 5-7 a.m. Waters also is a color commentator on the Georgia Tech Basketball Radio Network and does play by play on 11 Alive's telecasts of Falcons preseason football.

Randy enjoys golf and he and his wife, Linda, have one daughter, Whitney-Leigh.
