Escaped Kennesaw tortoise reunited with family

Tortoise found in Cobb County returned to family

UPDATE! The Kennesaw Police Department is happy to report that the tortoise has been reunited with his family! Cobb County Animal Control says it verified the information of the family before releasing the pet, so there's no worries that he was sent home with the wrong family!

KENNESAW, Ga. -- You could say it was a "slow" crime day for Kennesaw police.

Sunday morning, officers responded to a call regarding an unidentified Tortoise crawling around the yard of a Cobb Coubty couple, Scott and Hannah.

Police posted a picture of the rebellious reptile, later identified as an African Spurred Tortoise, on their Facebook page, in hopes of helping the wanderer find its way back home.

Anyone with information regarding the owner of the tortoise is asked to shell out information to Cobb County Animal Control at 770-499-4136.

Now, just for kicks, take a peek at some baby tortoises!
