ATLANTA -- Construction is underway for the new home of the Global Collection Gallery and the Jim Henson Gallery at the Center for Puppetry Arts.
The grand opening of the Worlds of Puppetry permanent exhibit will be held on November 14, and it will represent the world's most comprehensive collection of the work of Jim Henson.
"Great museums are characterized by their ability to continually educate, inspire and evolve," said Vincent Anthony, Center for Puppetry Arts founding Executive Director. "Our team has been preparing for this day for many years, and we are thankful for the generous contributions from the Jim Henson family, our benevolent donors, generous Members and the support of our community."
Anthony called the new exhibit a true turning point for the Center for Puppetry Arts.
It will consist of newly expanded 7,500 square foot museum space, as well as a renovated entryway, expanded museum store and new research library.
Grand opening festivities will include well-known walk-around Henson characters and photo opportunities.
In conjunction with the grand opening events, the Center's annual holiday classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer™ returns to the stage.
