Kiah was found when a good Samaritan found the poor pooch lost in the Bartow County countryside.

Caroline Claffey, a volunteer with Cherokee County Humane Society in Acworth, Ga., picked up Kiah on Dec. 30, 2017 and quickly realized the dog had seen some extensive abuse.

"She had just started lactating which told us that she was about to have her puppies somewhere within the next seven days," Claffey, who had been fostering Kiah, said.

When Claffey took her in, she was overbred, her teeth were filed down and she was afraid of people.

Claffey quickly took Kiah to a vet and X-rays revealed her horrible medical condition.

Kiah had several old shotgun pellets near her spine, and unfortunately, the puppies she was supposed to give birth to, had been dead for several days inside of her.

An emergency C-section was performed and Kiah lost all of her puppies.

When Kiah finally got home, she was suffering from depression after losing her puppies, so her foster mom bought stuffed animals to console her.

Kiah update: She has been home from the hospital for a few days, she seems to be suffering from depression so today her foster went out and got her some stuffed animals to help comfort her... she's not eating unless she's hand fed but we're hoping a little more time & the new fuzzy "pups" will help her heal not only physically but emotionally as well. Please keep this sweet girl in your prayers... she's been through so much ... we just want her to get well so she can get a forever home & start her new life!!!
