Free pet check-ups offered to DeKalb County residents

The free clinic is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shoal Creek Park II.

If you are a pet owner in DeKalb County and tight on cash, you may want to take advantage of LifeLine Animal Project's free animal clinic on Saturday.

The clinic, called Healthy Pets DeKalb, will provide free services: including vaccinations, vouchers for spaying and neutering to use at LifeLine's Spay & Neuter Clinics, micro-chipping, pet registration; and give away free items like dog and cat food, collars, leashes, and more.

Last year, more than 1,800 pets received free vaccines and services at LifeLine's Healthy Pets events, which aim to keep pets out of the shelter and with the families who love them.

Healthy Pets DeKalb is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shoal Creek Park II, located at 3643 Glenwood Road in Decatur. No registration is necessary and the event is for this first-come, first-served.

Be sure your dog is on a leash and cat is safely contained in a carrier.
