Atlanta police searching for driver who hit man on sidewalk

The victim was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center in critical condition as a result of his injuries.

ATLANTA -- Police need your help finding a driver who slammed into a man who was walking on the sidewalk on Monday.

The vehicle, described as a silver 2003 to 2005 Honda Pilot, apparently lost control and hit the victim near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Wellington Street. The vehicle then sped away from the scene.

The victim was rushed to Atlanta Medical Center in critical condition as a result of his injuries. Now officers are on the lookout for the truck, adding that it will likely have heavy front-end damage. Police said the vehicle will likely have front passenger-side damage from a brick wall; the vehicle's inner fender and headlight plastics were left behind at the scene.

On Feb. 12, police released new photos of the suspected vehicle.

Anyone with information about the accident can send their tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers Atlanta through their tip line, 404-577-8477. Those who provide information leading to an arrest and indictment are eligible for a $2,000 reward.
