ATLANTA – If you don't have tickets to Monday's big game between Georgia and Alabama, there are still plenty of ways to experience college football's national championship.
Commuter Dude Jerry Carnes took a drive and walk from venue to venue that will host events related to the College Football National Championship.
It all begins Friday morning at 10:30 with a youth football clinic at Georgia State Stadium.
Saturday morning at 9 o'clock is Media Day at Philips Arena. It's free and open to the public. Fans can use headphones to listen in on interviews with players and coaches from Alabama and Georgia.
Beginning Saturday morning at the Georgia World Congress Center, fans can access Playoff Fan Central. There will be 300,000 square feet of games, clinics, pep rallies, band performances, special guest appearances, autograph signings and exhibits. The cost is $8 in advance or $10 at the door for adults.
Also beginning Saturday morning is the Championship Tailgate Plaza at the International Plaza near the World Congress Center. In addition to other activities, there will be a zipline and a free-fall stunt jump.
Saturday night at Centennial Olympic Park will kick off the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live, a series of free concerts. Among the performers is Jason Derulo and Darius Rucker.
On Sunday in downtown Atlanta, runners will participate in the Extra Yard 5K. There will be live entertainment and other activities.
Also Sunday is the Taste of the Championship at the Georgia Aquarium. For $250, participants can sample gourmet food from some of Atlanta's most notable restaurants and breweries.
