Man stabbed several times by ex-boyfriend after dispute

ATLANTA - A man was stabbed several times by his ex-boyfriend after a dispute early Monday morning.

At 12:40 a.m., police were called to the 990 block of Piedmont Avenue NE for a dispute with a knife.

The victim told police that he had gotten into a physical fight with his ex-boyfriend that escalated with the victim getting stabbed multiple times.

However, the ex-boyfriend told police that he had been returning to his car after leaving the club when the victim came running at him and began to hit him repeatedly. In defense, he pulled out his pocket knife and stabbed the victim.

The victim suffered at least seven stab wounds to his torso, wrists and his back, according to police.

The suspect fled the scene before also calling 9-1-1 and reporting the fight.

Police have charged the suspect with aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. The victim received no charges.

He is being held at Fulton County Jail at this time.
