U.S. Marshals help nab suspects in separate armed robbery, murder cases

The two suspects were ultimately found at the same apartment complex off of Ponce de Leon Avenue.

Suspects wanted in separate incidents of murder and armed robbery were found together and arrested, Tuesday, by the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Marshals.

Deputies originally issued a warrant in November of 2017 for 24-year-old Kaylon Janard Jiles of Tucker, Georgia for the shooting death of Erris Fisher in Lawrenceville earlier that month.

Months later, on Feb. 6, authorities issued warrants for Traquan Alexander McCleod of Decatur on charges of felony armed robbery and felony aggravated assault. He's accused of attacking an Atlanta resident in Decatur on Sept. 13, 2017.

Further investigation later uncovered a connection between the two suspects. Deputies and agents found them both at an apartment complex at Juliette Road and East Ponce de Leon Avenue on Tuesday according to a DeKalb County Sheriff's Office spokesperson.

The two suspects and a third person left the complex but were found and arrested without incident during a traffic stop nearby. They also found two guns that were reported stolen. The third person in the car is being held pending further investigation.

All Three were taken to the DeKalb County Police Department's Criminal Investigation Unit.
