Could a season two of HBO's hit mini-series "Big Little Lies" be on the horizon?
New developments and chatter are making that seem much more likely. First comes confirmation that one of the stars of the show is backing out of the sci-fi pic "Pale Blue Dot" the story of an astronaut's return home after time in space.
Reese Witherspoon was expected to star in and produce in the Noah Haley movie. Variety reports this clears up Witherspoon's schedule to reprise her role in the "Big Little Lies."
On top of that, TVLine is reporting that unnamed sources close to the project are expecting to begin filming the show in spring of 2018.
The show, which stars Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley, won eight Primetime Emmy Awards in September.
Several entertainment sites report that stars of the show have hinted at a return for season two since the first began. But until now, it's only been idle speculation.
The show is based on a novel by Liane Moriarty.
