Police: Athens woman finds back door riddled with bullet holes

Police said the woman who lived in the apartment heard someone "shoot several rounds" through her glass back door.

ATHENS, Ga. – Police are trying to figure out why someone shot up an apartment glass door.

Around 3 a.m. Thursday, Athens-Clarke County police were called to Rivers Edge Apartments on West Broad Street for an apartment damaged by gunfire.

Police said the woman who lived in the apartment heard someone “shoot several rounds” through her glass back door. Police found a number of bullet-sized holes were through the door’s glass.

The woman told police she has no idea who would do this.

No one was injured and there are no suspects at this time.
