CARTERSVILLE, Ga. -- Three children were rescued after police found a Cartersville man in possession of what they described as "homemade" child pornography at his home.

Several law enforcement agencies were involved in arresting 27-year-old Shawn Ryan Budovic and his 17-year-old fiancé Kayla White on Tuesday Oct. 31. Budovic was arrested at his Cartersville, Ga. home after a multi-state investigation with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, the GBI and HIS.

White was arrested in Trenton, Michigan after police found that she took the pictures found at Budovic's home. Police recovered three children, ages 3, 4 and 9, from the home.

Budovic was arrested and charged with computer pornography and felony child exploitation. Additional federal charges are expected. He was booked into the Bartow County Jail.

White was charged with child abuse in the first degree in Michigan. The Trenton Police Department continues the investigation into the images and the safety of the minor victims, according to police.

The investigation is a part of the GBI's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

"The ICAC Program, created by the U. S. Department of Justice, was developed in response to the increasing number of children and teenagers using the Internet, the proliferation of child pornography, and the heightened online activity by predators searching for unsupervised contact with underage victims."

Anyone with information about this case or any other cases of child exploitation should contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation Unit at 404-270-8870.
