HALL COUNTY, Ga. - Hall County Fire announced their Facebook page that one of their retired battalion chiefs passed away.
Jim Lancaster served with Hall County Fire for over 26 years before he retired in 2005. Lancaster also served in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1972 prior to joining the fire department.
"He provided an immeasurable amount of knowledge to our personnel over the years and we are fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from him."
According to the post, his family have expressed their thanks for the outpouring of support and are asking for everyone to keep their family in your thoughts and prayers.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by the Memorial Park Funeral Home in Gainesville.
