COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Seeing a car on the road without its headlights probably wasn't that unusual for Officer Richardson. But what the Cobb County officer did next may have saved an elderly woman's life.
Richardson said he spotted the car around 11 p.m. on Thursday and managed to get the driver to stop. That's when the situation took a surprising turn. In a Facebook post by the Cobb County Police Department, officials said Richardson soon learned that the driver, a 90-year-old woman, had no idea where she was.
It turned out that neither did her family. Richardson soon found out that she had been missing from Gwinnett County since 10:30 a.m.
She also hadn't eaten or drank anything all day. So once the woman's family was notified, Richardson bought the woman a burger and fries as she waited for her family.
It was a small act of kindness that no doubt meant the world to the driver - and to the family rushing to see her again.
