ATLANTA – A man is asking for the public’s help in finding a 5-week-old lab puppy he was fostering after it was stolen along with his car.

At around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Tyler McMullen told police he left his car running outside the front doors of the Chevron on Ponce De Leon Avenue and Piedmont to run inside to use the bathroom and buy a drink. McMullen said he left his car running to keep the puppy warm.

When McMullen came back outside, his vehicle was gone.

Atlanta police followed his stolen car after they saw it going the wrong way down Spring Street. After a short pursuit police lost sight of the vehicle.

The officer stated he saw a black male with a light-colored hoodie driving the stolen car with a Florida tag.

McMullen posted on Facebook offering a $2,000 reward in hopes of finding the puppy.

“I have been fostering him because he was taken from his mother too early. I don't even care about the car or any of my possessions inside but not knowing my boy is being cared for is making me sick,” McMullen wrote.
